The SM gear selector raiser for the Vauxhall/Opel Astra G / H is one of those modifications that we believe everyone should have in their car. Once installed the unit increases the height of the gear stick, bringing it closer to the steering wheel and improving the ergonomics of the car.
 
As Astra H owners ourselves, the stock position feels very low down and not particularly accessible when driving hard. This simple and cost-effective modification will completely cure this while not compromising any factory components or putting stress on any of the selector components.
 
20mm Raiser Kit
 
This new kit moderately raises the selector tower by 20mm. It can be fitted to any car, regardless of gearstick gaiter condition, or whether the car has a short shifter fitted. It is a subtle and cost effective improvement for any car.
 
40mm Raiser Kit
 
Our OG gearstick raiser kit, and by far the most popular. It raises the position of the gearstick by 40mm. This vastly increases the ergonomic feel of the gearstick, while in most cases, still being able to retain the factory gearstick gator. Some cars without short shifters however, may occasionally experience the gater clips pop out when in reverse. This is not very common, but can happen, depending on the condition of the gator.
 
60mm Raiser Kit
 
For those wanting an even better gearstick feel, without keeping the factory gater, this option is great for a lot of people. This is probably the most ideal position for the best ergonomic feel. Lots of people that fit the 60mm kit also have custom gearstick gaters made to fit. Please note - the factory gearstick gater WILL NOT fit with this kit. For some later vehicles, the lower tray area & 12v socket need to be removed.
 
100mm Raiser Kit 
 
If you want to go full race car mode, this kit is for you! Raising the gearstick's position by 100mm, it brings it substantially closer to the steering wheel, making grabbing gears round the race track a breeze. This height is the absolute limit of how much the selector tower can be raised by, as it puts the shifter cables on the limit. Please note - To fit this kit, the lower heater controls have to be removed, as well as the 12v socket and tray next to it. The factory gearstick gaiter also needs to be removed.re may also be other components that have to be moved or modified to fit.
